Well, in this article, we are going to cover out everything for you, ranging from such basic understanding on how podcast works to different resources you will be requiring to make a good podcast WordPress website.

#1 What Is Podcast And How It Works?

A podcast is basically a collection of audio files in the form of episodes. A podcast can either be subscribed or download to listen, depends what option you wish to offer to your listener. Interestingly, thanks to the increase in options available these days, there are specialized tools available, like iTunes while you can your podcast available to number of different platforms options available.

#2 How To Start?

The first thing first, just like for a website, you will be requiring a good web hosting provider, the same way for setting up a podcast website, you does require a web hosting provider. If you are just starting out, then it is fine on opting hosting companies like BlueHost, DreamHost while if you are planning to take things to larger level, then opting for cloud computing companies like Amazon or Rackspace works perfectly here.

The second thing on list is that you will be requiring a good media hosting provider as podcasts consists of large files which in turn result in consuming a large chunk of server resources. So, for the same mean, it will be good to opt for the platform like Blubrry.

#3 What Equipments One Required?

Once activated, you will notice a PowerPress menu item in your WordPress dashboard. Clicking on it will take you to plugin’s setting page.

If in case, you are using Blubrry for your podcasting files hosting, then you need to configure it first. On clicking to the configure button, a popup will come in front of you in which you need to put up your login details. Once done, now complete all the information on the settings page.

On completion, now go to Blubrry and upload your first podcast files. This can be done by going to your Blubrry account. Simply login to your Blubrry account, and there click on Content >> Media files in which you will get an option, saying “Upload New Media” button.  Now start uploading your media file.

#6 Your First Podcast Post

Since now you are all set to publish your first post, come to your WordPress website and go to Posts >> Add New. Once you are on a new post page, you will notice a Podcast Episode metabox at the bottom. Just fill up all the required details and you are set to go with your first Podcast post.
